In the latest work on our Lewis & Clark Film Series<\/a>, the Discovery Expediton of St. Charles visited the Historic Daniel Boone Home<\/a> to capture scenes telling the story of the original expedition in the St. Charles area in May 1804.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Boone Home filming for the film series was a great opportunity to showcase our hometown and tell a local story that’s integral to the overall expedition,” said DESC Board Chairman Jan Donelson. “Though the shooting schedule\u00a0got scrambled and we were sweating whether we could\u00a0complete all the scenes in the script due to darkness, personal\u00a0schedules, planning around a site event, and even length\u00a0of scenes, the content that was shot was really good.”
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Many of the participants have said they believe\u00a0this is the best yet and since we are all novices in this endeavor, sometimes it is trial\u00a0and error to build the experience in order to strive for\u00a0excellence,” said Donelson.\u00a0 “The\u00a0goal is to produce a quality end product for all to enjoy and learn.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to all:\u00a0 There are so many great people involved\u00a0who have done an awesome job,\u00a0behind\u00a0or in front of the\u00a0camera, it\u00a0takes everyone.\u00a0 The Mission we are embarked upon has many facets to share our Nation’s history.\u00a0 I urge those who have gained exposure thru this Film Series to learn more by participating in our next event at Fort Massac, Oct. 14th-16th.\u00a0 Look for details on purchasing the series for your school or homeschool group, historic site or personal education soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series is being produced with funding from the National Park Service, Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, Bass Pro Shops, The Holton Family Foundation and in memory of Marita Ulhaas Parker.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
